Greaves-Walker Award

The Arthur Frederick Greaves-Walker Award honors a founding member and the first president of the National Institute of Ceramic Engineers (NICE). It is presented to an individual who has rendered outstanding service to the ceramic engineering profession and who, by life and career, has exemplified the aims, ideals and purpose of NICE. The award consists of a certificate and a ceramic article. Presentation of the award is made at the ACerS Annual Meeting.
In addition to their service to the ceramic engineering profession, this awardee must be over 41 years of age, hold their Professional Engineering license or be able to provide documentation of having worked primarily in the area of engineering throughout their career, and be a member of NICE.
The Nominating Process
Nominations must be in writing consisting of a description of the nominee's professional credentials, summary of service to NICE and the ceramic engineering profession. Nominations can be accompanied by letters of recommendation by other professionals who can testify to the appropriateness of the nomination.
