This course is intended for those with a cursory knowledge of texture analysis and measurement techniques. The primary goal is to familiarize attendees with EBSD techniques and to develop an appreciation for the types of analysis that can be performed from such data. Covered topics include; the physics of EBSD pattern formation, calculation of orientations and phase determination, texture estimation from individual measurements, misorientation and grain boundary distributions.
