The program for the 2008 Glass and Optical Materials Division Meeting examines the rich range of physical phenomena critical to the design, formation and utilization of glass and optical materials and the technologies that motivate these efforts.
Symposium Links Symposium 2 Issues in Glass Technology
In addition to the indicated topics, open sessions will be organized for each of the three symposia and authors are encouraged to submit papers related to Glass Science, Glass Technology, and Optical Materials. Please contact the Program Chair for additional information. Topics for these open sessions include, but are not limited to: · Composition and properties of novel, non-oxide and sol-gel glasses · Applications of glass and optical materials · Nucleation and crystallization · Mechanical properties of glass · Novel fabrication and characterization techniques for inorganic and organic materials
Poster Session and Student Poster Competition Organizer: Carrie L. Hogue (Corning, Inc., Corning, NY, USA; HogueCL@Corning.com) Poster papers will be accepted for all sessions and symposia. Students are encouraged to enter their presentations in the annual poster competition for recognition by the glass community and for cash awards! |
