The Ford Focus FCV will be one of the vehicles used in the Ride & Drive Program.  It uses hybrid technology that has benefited from the company's experienced engineering of the Ford Escape Hybrid and Mercury Mariner Hybrid.  Ford is actively engaged in serious development on four advanced fuel technologies – gasoline-electric hybrids, clean diesels, hydrogen-powered internal combustion engines and fuel cells.

On December 7, 2007, Ford, BP and the state of Florida opened a new hydrogen station to fuel Ford Focus fuel cell vehicles being used as official city vehicles.

Six hydrogen-powered Ford Focus fuel cell vehicles loaned to the state of Florida will use the new station. These vehicles are part of a 30-car Ford Focus fuel cell demonstration fleet on the road in the U.S., Canada and Germany.  Read the press release for more information.
