For more than 60 years, The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have collaborated on the publishing of evaluated phase diagrams of ceramic systems. The program goal is to support growth and progress in the ceramics industries by providing relevant critically evaluated phase diagrams for oxides, salts, carbides, nitrides, borides, compound semiconductors and chalcogenides.
FOUR WAYS TO ACCESS CONTENT:
1. CD-ROM Database Version 3.2 With more information than ever before, the ACerS-NIST Phase Equilibria Diagrams CD-ROM Database Version 3.2 contains 1,200 new diagrams bringing the total to more than 21,000. The new diagrams include oxide as well as non-oxide systems such as chalcogenides and pnictides, phosphates, salt systems, and mixed systems of these various ceramic materials classes. The 3.2 Version includes new figures as .pdf files, which are identical in quality to the books. New figures will not be printed.
This searchable CD has the same information as the 21 printed volumes with many additional features including high-quality printing and export capability. On-screen plotting can show line types such as dotted, dash-dot, dash and solid. Files can be saved in both Windows metafile (.wmf) and bitmap (.bmp) formats. Although the database is developed to run on Microsoft Windows, users have been able to run the database successfully on Microsoft Vista. This database is available in Single or Multiple user license.

2. Phase Equilibria Diagrams Online - Get Started Today!
Phase Online is now available. Access more than 21,000 evaluated Phase Equilibria Diagrams online, anytime, anywhere in a convenient, flexible and affordable manner. Plus new evaluated phase diagrams will be added to Phase Online starting in August 2008.
Some of the functionality of the Phase Online product includes:
* Search commentaries and diagrams: by Chemical System, Published Author's Last Name, Volume, Language, Publications Year, and Figure Number. * View Diagrams: The diagram screen displays a full view of Chemical System, Figure Number, Figure Notes, References, Commentary, and Footnotes. * Diagram Manipulation: The user can manipulate the diagram on screen with the following actions: Zoom In, Zoom Out, Lever Rule, Curve Follow, Mirror, Mol% to Wt% or Wt% to Mol%, and Built in Calculator.
Anyone may search the entire database using the search function on the home page and view a thumbnail sketch of each diagram; however, a subscription is required to fully view diagrams and commentaries and to use the interactive functionality.
